What story are you telling yourself?
The Photo Story uses photography and Clean Language to visually and verbally bring into your awareness what’s happening for you. It allows you to see your inner dialogue, to become more aware of your thoughts, feelings and beliefs that are making up the present day you.
Know the story you are telling yourself and change will start to happen.
What kind of view?
Depending on when in the coaching process you engage with The Photo Story, it may function as a preview, interview or review. It can also be a standalone session acting more as an overview.
How does it work?
The Photo Story is a chance to step back and take an outside or alternative perspective. It’s about both seeing your story, getting intimate with yourself and your mind, whilst also creating distance between you and your story by it being externalised so you are no longer identified with it.
It’s based on a bigger philosophy and principle that you are separate to the collective story of thoughts, feelings, memories, beliefs. If you can see these clearly, you can get distance for them and relate to these inner transient phenomena in a way that works best for you.
What kind of photos?
The Photo Story can make use of various types of imagery. The only stipulation is that they need to be in printed form. The photos can be
- Images from books/magazines that you are drawn to. You can either source your own or Natalie will give you a image collection from which you choose the images that speak to you. You bring this selection – anything from 7 to 50 images – to the coaching session.
- Images that you see only on the day. This process can work at an exhibition where you choose on the day the images in the exhibition that are speaking to you. Or Natalie will have an ‘exhibition in a box’ from which you can choose images.
- Images you have created yourself either as a professional or amateur photographer
- Images that are the result of a previous photo or coaching shoot with Natalie
How does it relate to the rest of my life?
Like the process itself, you get to choose which images you want to take home; the ones that really matter to you. The prints and/or digital files can be made into photo boards, photo books or framed prints. Natalie can make something up for you or you can further the richness of the process by creating your own photo product. More often that not, this gets started if not finished during the coaching session itself.
How much does it cost?
The Photo Story experience takes 2h face to face time plus preparation, where we work out which photos to use. This costs $250 and a photo book can also be made for you at an additional cost – please enquire.
