Photography for Well-Being
I enjoy working with and photographing people involved in the holistic well-being fields.
It matters to me that I understand my clients and their practices, so I only photograph people and events that resonate with me and my work. It’s part of my inwards-outwards approach and it allows me to:
- be sensitive to the session/event and client/group whilst it is in progress minimising interference as a photographer
- have a felt sense of what is important to communicate in your photographs
- respond as a peer participant i.e. tell the story as an active member rather than as a journalist looking in
- respect people’s comfort and privacy with regards to having a photographer observing them in their space
Although I might not be able to show great outwards technique of asana myself(!), I like to think that I know what it ‘should’ look like and hence know what will make a good photo.
